About Robert Porter
Many years ago I paid my way through school as a teenage newspaper photographer. Now having retired from nearly 30 years as the Communications Director for a research arm of the U.S. Department of Energy, I have picked up a camera again and have been fortunate to travel to several of our planet's most iconic sites. Far from being a professional photographer, I shoot images not just for their photographic appeal but also to chronicle the amazing places and people my wife and I have encountered. I have no photographic "specialties." Instead I prefer to view the diversity in nature and cultures around the world as offering boundless opportunities for new images.
